Salve Regina postpones softball doubleheader

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University softball has postponed its doubleheader with Western New England College for Saturday to Monday. The Seahawks will host the Golden Bears in a twinbill at Toppa Field with the first pitch slated at 5 p.m.

A trio of softball seniors - Kristen Danubio [Glen Rock, N.J.], Alicia Ferri [Pasedena, Calif.], and Sarah Jakiela [Meriden, Conn.] - will be honored between games. Salve Regina has no games scheduled between now and Monday while Western New England, currently atop The Commonwealth Coast Conference softball standings, hosts second-place University of New England on Sunday.

For Salve Regina baseball, the TCCC Saturday doubleheader with Wentworth Institute of Technology has moved to Newport on Reynolds Field at 1 p.m. Men's tennis also hosts Curry College at 1 p.m. on the Leroy Avenue courts. A decision on the playability of both events will be made at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
