ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Salve Regina University sailing team traveled to St. Mary's College of Maryland for its final regatta of the Fall, the Atlantic Coast Tournament.

After two days of sailing, and with two races to go, Salve Regina was tied for third place with second in reach. With an unfortunate foul committed in A-Division during the second to last race, the team slipped to a very respectable fifth out of 14 teams.

"The team sailed very well in this major intersectional championship" said head coach John Ingalls. "We've had a great Fall season; we've learned from our mistakes, have grown individually and as a team, and we are looking forward to the upcoming Spring season."

The team is scheduled to compete in Hawaii on 19-20 January and then compete in Charleston, S.C., at the end of February.

"The quest for nationals this Spring continues!"
