BRUNSWICK, Maine - Salve Regina University sailing competed in the Hewitt Trophy at Bowdoin College over two rainy cold days.

A division senior skipper Kyle Carney (Newport, R.I.) with freshman crew Angelina Todaro (Ipswich, Mass.) and B division junior skipper Robert Lippincott (Oxford, Md.) with junior crew Baillie Lawless (Rochester, N.Y.) battled hard to secure fifth place, only one point behind Tufts University at this very challenging regional regatta. This is the second week in a row that the Seahawks have had a top finish at their toughest event, helping them to climb even higher in the NEISA rankings.

The team will return to Bowdoin next week attempting to qualify for the Sherman Hoyt Intersectional at Brown University in late October.
