Brewer leads Seahawks at UMass Dartmouth Invitational
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Senior Scott Brewer (Wilbraham, Mass.) ran in the No. 1 spot for the second consecutive meet, leading the way as Salve Regina raced against a competitive field at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.
Brewer placed inside the top half of the field of more than 300 runners, finishing the 8K course in 28:07. Freshman Aidan Lynch (Little Silver, N.J.) held the second spot, and a scoring role for the second time, crossing the finish line at 28:54. Sophomore Riley Rancourt (Warren, R.I.), senior Andrew Sardelli (Hope Valley, R.I.) and senior David Napierkowski (Cheshire, Conn.) rounded out the scoring for the Seahawks.
UMass Lowell won the meet with a score of 82, three points ahead of Brandeis University, ranked No. 6 in the New England Region. Salisbury College of Maryland, ranked No. 8 in the Mideast Region, was third. Connecticut College, ranked No. 8 in the New England Region, finished fourth. The Seahawks placed 27th of 40 scoring teams.
