Seahawks place 15th at Connecticut Colege Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Salve Regina University men's cross country team placed 15th out of 16 schools at the 2009 Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational.

 

Freshman Tim Merlino (Big Sky, Mont.) was the top finished for the Seahawks as he placed 121st in the 6K event with a time of 28:53, followed by classmate Brian Dagliere (North Haven, Conn.) in 183rd place (31:37). Junior Ryan Hurley (Barrington, R.I.) (31:43), freshman James Weselcouch (East Haddam, Conn.) (32:11), and freshman Marc Reid (Marlborough, Mass.) (32:31) rounded out the top for Salve Regina.

 

Other finishers for Salve Regina included junior Daniel Blake (Randolph, Mass.) (32:45), freshman Mike Stankus (Cropseyville, N.Y.) (34:10), freshman Grant Olsen (Bay Head, N.J.) (34:43), and sophomore Nick Albanese (Hopatcong, N.J.) (35:13).

 

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they compete at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College.
