Seahawks place 16th at UMD Shriners Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Salve Regina University men's cross country team placed 16th out of 18 schools (sub-varsity) at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning.

 

Freshman Timothy Merlino (Big Sky, Mont.) led the Seahawks and placed 83th overall in the 5K meet with a time of 28:52.11. Junior captain Ryan Hurley (Barrington, R.I.) was next in 157th place with a time of 31:16.61, followed by freshman James Weselcouch (East Haddam, Conn.) in 182nd place with a time of 32:34.11.

 

Junior Dan Blake (Randolph,Mass.) was fourth for the Seahawks and 183rd overall with a time of 32:34.43, and freshman Marc Reid (Marlborough, Mass.) rounded out the top five Salve Regina runners with a 187th place finish (32:55.00).

 

The Seahawks return to action next Saturday when they compete at the Connecticut College Invitational.
