Beavers sweep Seahawks in NEWMAC tilt

NEWPORT, R.I. (Saturday, March 30, 2024) - Salve Regina University men's tennis lost their NEWMAC match with visiting Babson College, 9-0. All six players for the Green and White won their singles matches in straight sets after easy wins in doubles. Leading the way were senior Jose Gonzalez (Mexico City, Mexico) and first-year Mattias Harrell (Oslo, Norway), who did not lose a single game on the day. They combined for an 8-0 victory at number two doubles, and Gonzalez won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles while Harrell won by the same score at number four.

Sophomore Martin Mejia (Cali, Colombia) and first-year Brandon Reznik (Boca Raton, Fla.) paired up for an 8-1 verdict at number one doubles before Mejia won 6-0, 6-0 at six singles and Reznik took a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at number three. First-year Kerem Ozlale (Istanbu, Turkey) and junior Eshan Mukherjee (Basel Switzerland) made it a clean sweep for the Beavers, joining together for an 8-1 win at third doubles and Ozlale winning 6-1, 6-3 at first singles and Mukherjee taking a 6-1, 6-2 decision at number five.
