James Diamantopoulos won his singles match against Moravian, reversing the outcome from Saturday's meeting with the Greyhounds.

FALMOUTH, Mass. - Junior James Diamantopoulos (West Yarmouth, Mass.) won his first match this season, besting a Moravian College player whom had beaten Diamantopoulos in straight sets less than 24 hours earlier. Salve Regina University men's tennis showed improved play all around but the Greyhounds took another decision from the Seahawks, this time 6-3, at the Falmouth Sports Center in Falmouth, Mass.

The Seahawks won two out of three doubles matches, even with one of its winning pairs from yesterday re-configured due to illness. Kenneth McCormack (Falmouth, Mass.) paired with Michael Samek (Kensington, Conn.) for another Seahawk victory at third doubles, 9-7. McCormack and Samek won the last three games.

Junior Aaron Isch (Tolland, Conn.) and senior co-captain Zachary Rosenfeld (Easton, Conn.) earned an 8-6 win at first doubles for Salve Regina (0-6).

All singles matches were decided in straight sets. The Seahawks were without senior co-captain Brian Castrichini (Winchester, Mass.) and Malcolm Marshall (Topsham, Maine) for singles competition. Marshall and McCormack had paired for Salve Regina's only win on Saturday night.

Salve Regina competes again in two weeks at Stonehill College (March 3) before hosting Wheaton College on March 4 at the Falmouth Sports Center. The first time the Seahawks will fly outside (March 21) comes against the defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) champion Roger Williams University. Hawks third-year head coach, Neil Caniga, played his collegiate tennis at Moravian before guiding the Greyhounds for a couple of seasons as coach.
