Six Seahawks earn CSC Academic All-District® honors

Salve Regina men's soccer players on CSC Academic All-District® Team

NEWPORT, R.I. (Tuesday, November 21, 2023) – The Salve Regina University men's soccer team had six student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, as released this afternoon. To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and a starter or significant reserve.

Seahawks recognized include seniors Evan Arpin, Liam Berlingieri, Jordan Borges, junior Ethan David, and sophomores Aaron Muncaster, Ben Tomas, as Salve Regina has now produced nine Academic All-District® honorees dating back to 2015. This marks the first year the Seahawks have placed six on the Academic All-District® Team.

"It's always nice to have our student-athletes recognized for their commitment both on the playing field and in the classroom. And to have six of our current players selected as Academic All-District® is a true testament to the overall culture that has developed within our program these last several years. All of our guys take their work – both athletically and academically – very seriously and we have to keep establishing new team GPA goals each semester as our roster keeps finding ways to achieve whatever goal we set." - Seahawk head coach Craig O'Rourke II

Previous Academic All-District® honorees include Joseph Pate (2015), Jordan Elster (2018), and Casey Kelly (2021).

The Seahawks went 6-10-2 in 2023, with both ties coming against NEWMAC opponents (Coast Guard, Emerson) in back-to-back contests late in the season.
