WESTFIELD, Mass. -  Five different players scored goals for Salve Regina University as the Seahawks blasted their way past Westfield State University, 5-1, in a non-conference men's soccer match at Alumni Field on Tuesday evening. Salve Regina improves to 6-7 on the season, while Westfield is now 4-6-1.

Westfield trailed 2-1 at the half. Charlie Anischik tallied with 7:18 left in the first half after Santino Mazza fired a long pass up the right side that Coleby Andrade was able to run on to, and Andrade cut the ball back across the penalty area to Anischik, who fired the ball in from the top of box on the left side.

Salve Regina grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute when Jordan Borges fed Ben Tomas for the goal. The Seahawks tacked on their second of the night less than three minutes later with Daniel Goba scoring off of an assist from Joe Logue.

Good passing in the offensive end was the signature of the night for the Seahawks, as Borges picked up a pair of assists, and Goba added an assist on Nathan Costantino's goal that gave the Seahawks a 3-1 lead in the 50th minute of play. Daniel Bond and Michael Manousos added the final two goals of the night for Salve Regina.

Mazza hit the cross bar for the Owls on a shot midway through the second half that was the best chance of the second stanza for Westfield.

Salve Regina out-shot the Owls 32-11 on the night, with a 21-4 edge in shots on goal. The Seahawks recorded nine corner kicks to Westfield's three. Westfield's Luke Theroux made 13 saves, including eight in the first half to help keep the game in check. Drew Adams came on late to make three saves. Aidan Figueira made three saves for the Seahawks.

Westfield will get back to conference play on Saturday, when the Owls host Fitchburg State at 11 a.m. as part of homecoming weekend. Salve Regina hosts Clark University in NEWMAC action at Toppa Field at 1 p.m.
