Casey Kelly earns CoSIDA Academic All-District™

Casey Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.) has been selected to the First Team Academic All-District? by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

NEWPORT, R.I. (November 16, 2021) - Salve Regina University graduate student Casey Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.) has been selected to the First Team Academic All-District™ by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kelly, recently honored as the Scholar Athlete in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be chosen later this month. The three-time captain is a four-time CCC All-Academic Team member, an All-CCC first-team back and two-time Defensive Player of the Year (2019, 2021). In his junior campaign, he helped the Seahawks win conference title (2019) and make third-ever appearance in NCAAs.

Salve Regina head coach Craig O'Rourke II shares his pride in his graduate student financial management major with a 3.81 undergraduate grade point average. "What can I say about Casey that has not already been said?  He is quite literally going to leave Newport with every award conceivable! He has been nothing short of the absolute epitome of academic and athletic excellence for us. He is quite simply the best true 'student-athlete' in every possible way and it's going to be an impossible task to replace everything that he has done for our program when he graduates this spring with his Master's."
