BEVERLY, Mass. - Sophomore midfielder Jordan Borges (Milford, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal for the Salve Regina University men's soccer team in the 98th minute for a 2-1 overtime victory over Endicott College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
Alec Quiroz (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) got Salve Regina on the board with his first goal of the season. Joe Mepham knotted things up 1-1 with his seventh of the season for the Gulls in the 48th.
Following a strong defensive standstill that only featured five shots between both schools after Mepham's score, the match headed into overtime.
From there, the Seahawks were able to secure the win with the tally from Borges at the 97:21 mark.
Nathan Reid (Magnolia, Del.) made nine saves for the Seahawks, meanwhile Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) stopped three shots in the loss for the Gulls.
Salve Regina (9-4-1, 4-1) plays host to Gordon (6-4-2, 2-2-1 CCC) on Saturday, October 16 at 7 p.m., while Endicott (4-6-2, 3-1-1 CCC) hosts Suffolk (7-5-1, 3-2 CCC) on Saturday, October 16 at 4 p.m.
