MILTON, Mass. (October 23, 2019) - Four different Seahawks scored first-half goals as Salve Regina University men's soccer built a 4-1 lead after 45 minutes, and then added three more for a 7-1 final at Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on William Katz Field. Sophomore Alessandro Oggiano (Stoughton, Mass.) scored the fourth, fifth, and sixth Seahawk goals for his first collegiate hat trick. Graduate student Dana Sundell (Nantucket, Mass.) had first and second-half goals for Salve Regina.

The seven goals scored marks just the 15th time in the last 32 seasons that Salve Regina has reached that total in a game, and second time in 2019 (Sept. 7 against Anna Maria, 9-0). It's the most goals scored by the Seahawks away from home since a win in Gorham, Maine, in 2011 (Sept. 3 at University of Southern Maine, 7-1).

Junior captain Casey Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.) got the scoring started in the third minute with his second goal of the season on a feed from senior captain Evan MacDonald (Candia, N.H.). A dozen minutes later it was Sundell with his sixth of the year converting a pass from Evan Hilbie (Berlin, Conn.).

Seahawk freshman goalkeeper Seth Wolins (Wake Forest, N.C.) went to play a loose ball at the top of the box that Ali Pungi (Kinshasa, Congo) poked away for Mitchell Forbes (Boxford, Mass.) to finish for his first goal of 2019, making the score 2-1 in favor of Salve Regina.

Rich Ventura (Floral Park, N.Y.) got the two-goal advantage back in the 35th minute after converting a cross from Jacob Guerra (Colchester, Conn.). Oggiano completed the first-half scoring with an unassisted tally in the 40th minute.

The Seahawk sophomore from nearby Stoughton quickly made the score 6-1 in the second with his seventh and eighth goals of the season, assists respectively from Guerra and Sundell. Sundell made the final score, 7-1, with his second of the game and seventh of the season at 62:00 elapsed.

Salve Regina (10-4-3, 4-0-2 CCC) plays at Gordon College on Saturday; the Scots are the last league team to defeat the Seahawks who went undefeated in the 2018 regular season. The Colonels celebrated Senior Night for nine players while seeing their record fall to 2-13-1 overall and a 0-6-0 mark in league play; they play at Wentworth on Saturday.
