BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. -- Junior Conor Woods's (Otisville, N.Y.) goal with 1:17 remaining lifted Salve Regina to a 2-1 non-league college men's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Woods converted a rebound from senior Christopher Anderson (Trumbull, Conn.) on the golden goal for the visiting Seahawks (5-3-1), who grabbed a 1-0 edge in the 35th minute on sophomore Donald Igo's (Needham, Mass.) marker before freshman Justin Burns (Walpole, Mass.) evened matters in the 69th minute with his first collegiate tally on a feed from sophomore Tyler Haynes (Bridgewater, Mass.). Both teams had chances to take the lead in the closing minutes of action before Woods's heroics gave the visitors their triumph.

Senior Evan Coose (Easton, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Salve Regina with a five-save effort, while senior Mike Pruchnik (Rochester, Mass.) made seven stops in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime as the Seahawks outshot the Buccaneers by a 15-14 margin overall (9-6 on goal), but the hosts held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to North Adams, Mass. on Friday evening to take on MCLA in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing that begins at 6 p.m., while Salve Regina hosts Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest on Saturday afternoon in Newport, R.I. beginning at 3 p.m.
