Seahawks prepare for playoff match with Roger Williams on Saturday

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's soccer team has earned the No. 4 seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Championship and will host No. 5 Roger Williams University this Saturday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. at Brother Michael Reynolds Field.

The Hawks lead the all-time series, 20-7-1, but dropped a 3-0 decision to the Seahawks on Sept. 22 in Bristol. Junior and TCCC leading scorer Sean McAllister (North Arlington, N.J.) racked up five points in the match - including a pair of goals - while classmate Nicodemo Camarda (Burlington, N.J.) also chipped in with a goal. The win snapped a seven-match losing streak to Roger Williams.

The Seahawks are led by McAllister, who leads the conference in goals (14), assists (13), and points (41). In conference matches, the four-time TCCC Offensive Player of the Week notched a conference-best 28 points, including a conference-high 10 assists. Senior tri-captain Ken Johnson (Colonia, N.J.) ranks second on the team and third in the conference with 24 points (9-6-24), and his 20 points in conference matches also places him third. Camarda, meanwhile, ranks seventh overall in TCCC with 17 points, and his eight goals are tied for sixth overall. In goal, sophomore Devin O'Gorman (Canton, Mass.) brings a 0.81 goals against average (GAA) and an .805 save percentage into this weekend against the Hawks, whom he recorded nine saves against on Sept. 22.

"We're looking forward to this Saturday's match with Roger Williams down here in Newport," said Seahawks head coach Craig O'Rourke II. "In addition to this being a playoff game, it's also a rivalry match for us. At this point in the season, the two teams know each other pretty well and I don't think either of us are going to have any surprises or tricks up our sleeves. It should be a very well played match between two very skillful sides."

Roger Williams is led by freshman Daniel Caruso's (Tewksbury, Mass.) 14 points (5-4-14). Sophomore Bradley MacDonald (Topsfield, Mass.) is next with 12 points and sophomore Billy Kissane (Glastonbury, Conn.) sits third with 11 points (2-7-11). Of Kissane's 11 helpers, five have come against TCCC opponents, which places him fifth overall in that category. In goal, senior Peter Plate (Commack, N.Y.) owns a 7-7-3 mark with a 1.43 GAA and a .773 save percentage. He allowed two goals on four shots in 70+ minutes of action against the Seahawks before being replaced by freshman John Pelloso (Wilbraham, Mass.) back in September.

In other quarterfinal contests on Saturday, No. 1 Nichols hosts No. 8 Endicott (4:30 p.m.), No. 2 Western New England hosts No. 7 Colby-Sawyer (1:30 p.m.), and No. 3 Gordon hosts No. 6 Wentworth (1 p.m.).
