Bio

Dan Parks, a 2014 Salve Regina University graduate, enters his 10th year on the Seahawks staff serving his 6th season as Associate Head Men's Lacrosse Coach.  Parks will continue to help the University recruit, retain, & develop men of character and community. Coach Parks has also been an influential part in the program's increasing academic success. The team boasts a 3.52 overall team cumulative GPA entering the 2024 season. 

Parks served as a defensive assistant with an emphasis on midfield play and the transition game for the Seahawks from 2015-2017 . Parks guided Seahawk midfielders to improved defensive play by promoting a two-way approach. In 2018, Parks began serving as Defensive Coordinator. At various times the Seahawks have been among the top of the Conference in Caused Turnovers, Man Down Goals, and Goals Against. The Seahawks defense has landed 3 All-CCC selections and 2 All-Star Game selections over the course of Parks’ tenure in addition to seeing 10 athletes earn Defender or Specialist of the week honors.  

Parks played in 60 games for the Seahawks from 2011-2014. During his four years, Parks was a two-way midfielder and an influential part of the Seahawks transition game.  In 2014 he co-captained the Seahawks as they set various single-season records and posted the best season in program history with a 15-5 record and capturing the New England ECAC Championship. “I am very proud to have been a part of that team; they hold a special place in my heart,” Parks said. “I am happy to still be a part of this family and be around these great student-athletes. I am extremely excited for the opportunity to continue to help this program grow and contribute to its success in any way.”

Parks, the university’s 2014 recipient of the Brother Michael Reynolds award, was a two-sport athlete (football); named a member of the New England Football All-Academic team, Commonwealth Coast Conference Academic All-Conference Team, and the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Academic All-Region team; and recipient of a Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges Award. Coach Parks is also an Eagle Scout.  Parks obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree with a concentration in Mathematics and Secondary Education. He currently works with at-risk students as a Math Teacher at Mount Hope High School in Bristol, RI. Parks, originally from Nesconset, NY is a graduate of Smithtown East (‘10). Coach Parks resides in Bristol with his wife, Amanda, and two daughters, Hayden and Karsyn.
