Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team never trailed on its way to a 16-10 victory over visiting Roger Williams University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action between the two intra-state rivals for the Quahog Cup.

The Seahawks have won the last two meetings however Roger Williams still leads 22-4 all-time.

  1. Salve Regina sophomore Liam Cooney (Portsmouth, R.I.) had a career-high six points with five goals and an assist.
  2. Salve Regina senior Ryan Chambers (Wakefield, Mass.) made a career-high 19 saves to improve to 4-4 in net.
  3. Salve Regina graduate student Pat Leary (Wakefield, Mass.) scored four times and had an assist.

Turning Point
Salve Regina scored the first four goals of the third quarter and outscored the Hawks 7-2 in the frame to lead 13-6 heading into the fourth. The Seahawks tallied the first three goals of the final quarter to push the lead to double-digits and were able to cruise to the finish line. Roger Williams scored the final four goals of the game in the last six minutes, but time ran out on any hopes for a Hawks comeback.

  • Justin Haverly (Clifton Park, N.Y.) won 19-25 faceoffs for the Seahawks while Darian Wulf (Swampscott, Mass.) won nine for the Hawks.
