Summary
The Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season with a 22-3 victory over Salem State University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

  1. Salve Regina senior Andrew Fera (Cranston, R.I.) scored four time and dished out four assists.
  2. Salve Regina freshman Pat Leary (Wakefield, Mass.) scored six times and handed out an assist. He has scored four or more goals in his first two collegiate appearances.
  3. Salve Regina senior Matt D'Amore (Duxbury, Mass.) stopped four of five shots to pick up the win in net.

The Seahawks scored as many goals as the Vikings had shots in the game. Salve Regina held a 58-22 shot advantage and 37-9 in shots on goal.

Turning Point
The Seahawks opened the game with 10 straight goals to take establish a double digit lead with 5:16 left in the first half. Jack Feeney (Abington, Mass.) scored for the Vikings with 3:07 left to get Salem State on the board and an ensuing man-up gave the Vikings a chance to swing momentum and inch closer. However Pat Leary scored on the man-down off a Vikings turnover with 2:18 to go to reestablish a 10-goal lead.
