BREAKDOWN:

  • Period I: The period began with Cayden Bailey in-goal for the Seahawks and Logan Bateman in-net for the Falcons. The first 16 minutes saw no action. Both teams attempted to find the net, either sending the puck directly into the pads of the goalie or just wide of the net. Salve Regina saw a power play opportunity when Albertus Magnus was called for hooking, however the Seahawks couldn't seem to make anything happen. With just under four minutes left in the period, Falcons' Cameron Weitzman saw an opportunity to get the puck between the posts and got the team their first goal of the day for a 1-0 score. With energy and emotions high, both the Seahawks and the Falcons were called for roughing at the end of the period, which carried over to the next 20 minutes of the game.
  • Period II: Neither team made any advancements with four-on-four during the first two minutes, and it was a scoreless period for both sides. The Falcons were called for roughing and tripping in in the first 15 minutes, followed by a Seahawk tripping penalty however, both teams battled it out with no changes in score.
  • Period III: After 19 minutes with no significant changes, Damon Zimmer (from Hoon Kim) prevented Albertus Magnus from earning a shutout win. Zimmer scored with 43 seconds left in regulation which sent the game into overtime at 1-1.
  • OT: Salve Regina took four shots in overtime and Albertus Magnus only took two, however on the second try Charles Lavoi sent the puck flying past the crease into the Seahawk net, ending the game 2-1 in favor of Albertus Magnus.
