Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) scored for visiting Endicott College with 1:58 remaining to cap a wild third period and deliver a 3-2 victory over the Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday night.

Series and Streaks
The Seahawks remain 8-6 all-time, however the Gulls have won four straight in the series. The road team is 10-4 in the series.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Endicott senior Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) made 38 saves to improve to 2-0-0 in net.
  2. Endicott sophomore Andrew Kurapov finished off a loose puck in front to put the Gulls back in front with 1:58 remaining.
  3. Salve Regina junior Mitch Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) scored the first goal for the Seahawks and assisted on the other.

Turning Point
Endicott entered the third period with a 1-0 lead. Walkinski knotted things up 56 seconds in the third when O'Brien got washed out of his net by a teammate, leaving it open for Walinski to score on. Later Tyler Caraneglo (Hamden, Conn.) cashed in on the powerplay to give the Seahawks their first lead of the night at 8:17 in the third. The lead was short-lived as Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.) got the goal back, also on the powerplay, at 9:54. The teams continued to trade chances until with 1:58 to play Kurapov snapped home a shot off a touch pass from Noah Strawn (Wareham, Mass.) to put the Gulls back in front. Salve Regina would pull the goalie for the final 1:17 after drawing a penalty on the Gulls to create a 6-on-4, but could not find the equalizer.
