Key Stat of the Game
Nichols trailed 5-2 after 20 minutes of play before outscoring the Seahawks 5-1 over the next 40 minutes to secure their eighth conference win of the season.

Trailing 5-3 early in the second, Brennan made a key save on a one-timer from senior Peter Gintoli (Shelton, Conn.) from point blank range. Minutes later, Beasley scored a short-handed goal to cut the Nichols deficit to 5-4. In the third period, after Menta gave the Bison their first lead of the contest, Brennan stopped sophomore Evan Schmidbauer (San Diego, Calif.) on a breakaway to preserve the lead.

Quotes
"We actually just sat down and stayed calm. We knew we didn't have to get three in the first two minutes of the second period. We just knew that if we chipped away and stuck to the process and the game plan, we were going to win the game. They're not always the way you draw them up and this is definitely one of those. You don't draw up a 7-6 win. I'm really proud of the leadership, guys like Tyler Beasley and Paul Prescott and (Frank) Butler and (Steve) Lecey and (Michael) Parnell. They really came together and calmed the ship a little bit. We knew if we chipped away and Colin came in and shut the door, we were going to have a chance." – Nichols head coach Parker Burgess

"We're very proud of Colin. He has worked really hard in practice and he was ready to play when his number was called. We were looking to spark the team, so we gave Colin a shot. He made some game-saving saves for us. We go down 6-3, it's going to be tough. And when it was 7-6, we felt we had to keep it that way. He made a huge save at a huge moment in the game. He prepares hard and works hard. He is a serious kid who got rewarded for his hard work tonight. I couldn't be happier for him." – Burgess, on his decision to start Brennan in the second period

"The coaching staff has stressed to us all year about being mindful and being ready. It means staying calm, living in the moment, and staying even-keeled. The entire team stayed that way throughout the game. We never lost faith. We were tapping each other on the pads. There was a lot of time left." – Nichols sophomore Colin Brennan, on falling behind 5-2

"It was a play from the corner. It happened very quickly. I took a quick peek to the backside and I was able to read the play. I let it develop and then I was able to slide over and get my hand on it. The defense did a great job of clearing the lanes. There were so many big blocks tonight. It was a complete team effort." – Brennan, on his save on Gintoli in the second and the overall effort
