ECAC Goalie of the Week: Blake Wojtala

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's ice hockey goaltender Blake Wojtala (Trenton, Mich.) has earned the Goalie of the Week award for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast (ECACNE).

Wojtala recorded two wins for the Seahawks last week, making 24 saves in a 5-1 win over Johnson & Wales on Friday. The freshman then compiled 19 stops in a 5-2 win over Stonehill on Saturday. Wojtala ended the week with a 1.50 goals against average and .935 save percentage. The freshman goalie now owns a 8-4-0 record this season.

Senior forward Peter Gintoli (Shelton, Conn.) also made this week's honor roll. With a goal and four assists over two games, Gintoli led the Seahawks in scoring this week as the team went 2-0. Gintoli has now taken the team lead for points with six goals and nine assists on the year.

Salve Regina (8-5-1, 4-2-1 ECACNE) will next take to the ice on Friday January 15 in Martha's Vineyard against Elmira as part of a tournament the Seahawks are hosting.
