ECAC NORTHEAST PRESEASON POLL
  • Salve Regina ranks second in the 2013-14 Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Northeast preseason coaches' poll (54 points).
  • The Seahawks finished last year with a 5-7-2 mark in the conference to earn a No. 5 seed.
  • After defeating No. 4 Western New England in the opening round of the conference tournament, the Seahawks went on to upset No. 2 Nichols before falling to No. 1 Wentworth in the conference title game.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
  • Salve Regina four of the next five games at home, including its conference opener against Suffolk next Saturday, Nov. 9. 
  • The Seahawks break up their homestand with a trip to Boston, Mass. to take on ECAC Northeast defending champion, Wentworth on November 12.

I'M HONORED
  • Freshman Parker Bowen was named the ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week after his game-tying goal in Salve Regina's 3-2 win over Franklin Pierce. 
  • Joining Bowen on the Weekly Honor roll was sophmore Marc Biggs. Biggs had a goal and assist to help the Seahawks to a season-opening victory.
SCORING LEADERS
  • Salve Regina its top five scorers from a year ago in junior captain John Scorcia (30 points • 11g, 19a), sophomore Cameron Gaudet (25 points • 14g, 11a), junior Michael Naso (25 points • 10g, 15a), and sophomores Marc Biggs (24 points • 14g, 10a) and Peter Gintoli (24 points • 12g, 12a). 
  • Last season was the first time since 2003-04 that the Seahawk line featured at least five players with 20 or more points on the season.
  • Returning for the Skyhawks is senior Bryan Rooney. The forward finished the 2012-13 season with 32 points (16g, 16a). 
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
  • Stonehill returns all but one of its top-scorers from a year ago, including Rooney and sophomore Robbie Dorgan (23 pts. • 7g, 16a)
  • The Skyhawks also return all three of their goalies from last year, including junior Chris Tasiopoulos who spent 1045:38 minutes in the net for SC. Tasiopoulos finished the year with an 8-11-0 record and a 3.79 GAA.
  • Stonehill was selected to finished third in the preseason Northeast-10 coaches' poll.
COACHES' CORNER
  • Salve Regina head coach Andy Boschetto enters his fourth season at the helm of the Seahawks.
  • He led the team to the ECAC Northeast playoffs for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
  • The 10 regular season wins last year are the most for the time since the 2007-08 season.
  • Boschetto was honored as Co-Coach of the Year by the ECAC Northeast last season.
RECORD BOOK CHECK
  • Junior John Scorcia ranks fifth all-time with 41 assists entering his junior season.
  • Scorcia is 13th all-time in scoring with 61 points (19g, 42a) in his career so far.
