Colby skates past Seahawks, 5-1

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Five different players scored to lead the Colby College men's ice hockey team to a 5-1 win over Salve Regina in the second day of the Bowdoin/Colby Faceoff Classic at Sidney J. Watson Arena on Sunday. The Mules improve to 2-2-0 while the Seahawks fall to 1-4-0.

 

Colby scored a pair of goals in the first period to take an early lead. Billy Crinnon knocked home a rebound on the doorstep at 4:51 to get the Mules started. At 16:19, Corey McGrath fed Nick Kondiles in front for a one-timer to give Colby a two-goal advantage after 20 minutes.

 

The Mules notched a power-play goal early in the second period when Jeoffrey Jarnot went five-hole at 4:37. McGrath and Dan Nelson scored third period goals for the Mules, sandwiched around a 5x3 tally by Salve Regina's Tyler Trott to round out the scoring.

 

Ben Bradley made 36 saves in the loss for the Seahawks while Cody McKinney collected 22 saves for Colby.
