Seahawks fall to Rams, 4-1

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Niles Moore (Columbus, Ohio) scored a pair of goals to lead Suffolk to a 4-1 ECAC Northeast ice hockey victory over Salve Regina Tuesday evening at Walter Brown Arena.

Moore staked the host Rams (1-3-1, 1-0-0 ECAC Northeast) to an early 1-0 advantage after netting a power-play marker just 1:55 into the contest on assists from junior Zach Barron (St. Louis, Mo.) and sophomore J. Andrew Wein (Barnegat, N.J.). Freshman Jason Molle (Stoneham, Mass.) extended that margin to 2-0 6:37 into the middle stanza with a shorthanded goal on a feed from junior Tom Coulstring (Whitman, Mass.). Junior Brett Pimental's (East Falmouth, Mass.) power-play goal 9:19 into the final period enabled the visiting Seahawks (1-1, 0-1 ECAC Northeast) to slice their deficit in half, but tallies by Barron and Moore that came just 1:41 apart provided insurance for Suffolk and accounted for the final score.

Junior Paul Weisser (Longmeadow, Mass.) registered a pair of assists in the win for Suffolk, which also received single helpers off the sticks of seniors Nick Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.)and Joe Drago (Waltham, Mass.), while juniors Ryan Petersen (Shrewsbury, N.J.) and Bryan Russell (Essex Junction, Vt.) assisted on Pimentel's marker for Salve Regina.

Junior Jeff Rose (Collinsville, Conn.) stopped 22 of 23 shots to pick up the win in goal for Suffolk, while sophomore Ben Bradley (Newburyport, Mass.) made 29 saves in the setback for Salve Regina as the Rams outshot the Seahawks by a 33-23 margin for the contest.

Suffolk travels to Smithfield, R.I. on Saturday evening for an ECAC Northeast matchup with Johnson & Wales that begins at 7:15 p.m., while Salve Regina hosts Nichols in an ECAC Northeast outing on Saturday afternoon in Newport, R.I. beginning at 2:45 p.m.
