BOSTON, Mass. (Saturday, February 17, 2024) -- Senior Clay Brochu (North Kingstown, R.I.) scored a season-high 27 points to lead Salve Regina University men's basketball to a season-finale win over Emerson College, 84-73, in NEWMAC action at the Brown and Plofker Gym in Boston on Saturday afternoon. The victory ends a season-long eight-game skid for the Seahawks that began with a two-point home loss (60-58) against the Lions on January 18.

Brochu made 9-of-17 (52.9%) from the floor, his best shooting percentage since a season-opening 79-46 win against Johnson & Wales (Nov. 11) where he made 7-of-13 (53.8) and finished with 17 points.

Fellow starters Jojo Powers (Dedham, Mass.) and Declan Walmsley (Franklin, Mass.) joined Brochu with double-figure points, 14 and 13, respectively, while Sean Seymour (Albany, N.Y.) contributed 11 points off the bench. Miles Fiore (Narragansett, R.I.) led all players with nine boards, all off the defensive glass.
