Brochu bids adieu in final home game; Bears win by five

NEWPORT, R.I. (Wednesday, February 14, 2024) -- Declan Walmsley (Franklin, Mass.) led all scorers with 24 points for Salve Regina University men's basketball but visiting United States Coast Guard Academy rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to win 90-85 in NEWMAC action at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

• The Seahawks were edged in rebounding (34 to 33) while the Bears scored a dozen second-chance points off their nine offensive caroms. Salve Regina grabbed three off the offensive glass and put back one basket on second chances.
• Led by Farrell, Coast Guard's bench outscored Salve Regina's, 30-14.
• Seahawks celebrated Senior Night with Clay Brochu (North Kingstown, R.I.) who finished with 13 points and five assists.
• Jojo Powers also scored in double-figures for Salve Regina (18).
• Miles Fiore had a game-high nine rebounds.
