NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University landed two players on the 2012-13 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC Men's Basketball Team. Junior Isiah Pringle (Queens, N.Y.) returns for a second straight year on the second team while senior William Smiley (Saunderstown, R.I.) joins his teammate as an honorable mention selection.

"Very happy that they got conference recognition," says Sean Foster, who became the winningest head coach in the history of Salve Regina men's basketball last month. "Isiah has been very consistent the past two years as a scorer for us. With Will, he's been a grinder who's really versatile playing different roles for us, and he's done very well being a difficult player for other teams to guard."

Both players have helped Salve Regina men's basketball reach the conference championship game each of the past two years, winning it all in 2010-11.

Pringle ranks fifth in the league in scoring (16.5 points per game) and second in free throw percentage. Making 46-of-49 free throw attempts overall, his 93.9 free throw percentage is a school record for a single season.

Smiley began his ascension in the opposing coaches' eyes with his performance toward of the end of last season into the postseason. "Playing well under the bright lights of the conference playoffs and then during the ECAC tournament has made an impact for Will," says Foster.

Leading the team in double-doubles (five), Smiley became the seventh Seahawk to have a single game with 32 or more points, posting his career-high during a win at Nichols College last week.

Salve Regina earned the fifth seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships and will face Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday night. Last season, Smiley had a 31-point effort against the Lions at the Lahue Center.
