FIELD ALL-CCC HISTORY

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its 2021 Field Hockey All-Conference Teams and major award winners Monday afternoon. Five of the seven CCC schools were represented on this year's list. Endicott and the University of New England each had eight selections to lead the group.

The Gulls and Nor'easters were also represented in the major award listings. Endicott's Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) was selected as the Offensive Player of the Year and UNE's Julia Steeves (Skowhegan, Maine) was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Two other Nor'easters also earned awards with Jillian Lachapelle (Gilford, N.H.) being named the CCC Scholar-Athlete and Lily Poor (Jericho, Vt.) earning one of two Rookie of the Year honors this year. Western New England's Sarah Johnston (Uxbridge, Mass.) was also named Rookie of the Year. UNE head coach Danielle Collins was voted the CCC Coach of the Year by her peers for the fifth time and Nichols was awarded the Team Sportsmanship award.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the seven CCC field hockey head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Johnston and Lachapelle were two of four forwards selected to the All-CCC First Team. Joining them were Lachapelle's teammate Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine) and Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.) from Salve Regina. Poulin and Steeves were also All-CCC First Team selections in the midfield. They were joined by Endicott's Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.). The three defenders picked as First Teamers were Haylee Angster (Poquoson, Va.) from UNE, Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.) from Endicott, and Abby Burns (Hooksett, N.H.) from WNE. The Nor'easters' Lindsay Pych (West Milford, N.J.) was voted the All-CCC First Team goalkeeper.

There were twelve members named to the All-CCC Second Team including five Gulls. They were forwards Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) and Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.), defenders Abby Carter (Richmond, Vt.) and Rachael Lemay (Westminster, Mass.), and goalkeeper Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.). There were also three Nor'easters selected to the Second Team with Poor earning a spot in the midfield along with Kate Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.), plus Lauren Green (Gorham, Maine) on defense. Roger Williams and WNE each had two All-CCC Second Team representatives. The Hawks were represented by forward Amelia Monahan (Bristol, N.H.) and defender Hunter Phillips (Schuylerville, N.Y.), while midfielders Taylor Klesyk (Hamden, Conn.) and Ali Martin (South Windsor, Conn.) were the Golden Bears selected.
