NEWPORT, R.I. (September 16, 2021) - Salve Regina University field hockey head coach Jen Foster has announced three seniors as her captains for the 2021 season - Olivia Butler (Sandy Hook, Conn.), Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.), and Kristen Wales (Southport, Conn.).

"The coaching staff is excited to work with these three senior captains this fall," Foster said. "Eliza, Kristen and Liv embody what we want in a student-athlete leader. They excel in the classroom, push themselves and their teammates on the field and are dedicated to the process of improving each day. Their leadership will be something we turn to as we enter conference play later this week."

Salve Regina (5-0, 0-0 CCC) has started the season with five straight wins which marks the best start in program history. The team had its best ever win streak in 2015 (13 consecutive victories). Butler, Timms, and Wales have started all five games with the team posting one shutout and the Seahawks outscoring their opponents, 17-6. Timms leads the Seahawks and the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in goals (six), assists (four), and points (10). Butler ranks first among all CCC goalkeepers in save percentage (.848).

Foster, in her 16th year at Salve Regina, has eight seniors, five juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen among her 24-member roster.

The Seahawks will host the University of New England on Saturday, September 18, at Gaudet Field (12 p.m.) to open the conference slate.
