Three seniors, two sophomores on All-CCC squad for Seahawks

NEWPORT, R.I. (November 4, 2019) - Salve Regina University placed three seniors - Ashley Cody (Pawling, N.Y.), Hannah Filiault (Keene, N.H.), Vanessa Frost (North Attleboro, Mass.) - and two sophomores - Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.), Kristen Wales (Southport, Conn.) - on the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Field Hockey All-Conference Teams.

ALL-CONFERENCE HISTORY

All seven schools had at least one representative with CCC Regular-Season Champion Endicott leading the way with seven selections.

Highlighting the group of Gulls selected was senior Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) who was named CCC Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row. The University of New England earned two of the other major awards with Reanna Boulay (Liberty, Maine) winning Defensive Player of the Year and Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine) being selected as the CCC Rookie of the Year. Nichols senior Erin Kelley (Dighton, Mass.) was named the CCC Scholar-Athlete. Endicott's Jodi Cipolla took home her fourth CCC Coach of the Year award and Gordon was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship award for the sixth year in a row.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the seven CCC head field hockey coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Endicott's McCarthy and UNE's Boulay both earned spots on the All-CCC First Team. They were each one of five First Teamers from their respective institutions. In addition to McCarthy's selection at forward the Gulls also had midfielder Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.), defenders Abby Carter (Richmond, Vt.) and Emily Graham (Westford, Mass.), and goalie Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) named to the First Team. Boulay was a selected on defense with forward Kendra MacDonald (Lebanon, N.H.), midfielders Kate Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) and Julia Steeves (Skowhegan, Maine), and goalie Liz Sargent (South Burlington, Vt.) joining her as the other UNE First Team selections. The Roger Williams pair of Sydney McCarthy (Little Falls, N.Y.) at midfield and Alex Coppinger (Guilderland, N.Y.) at defense, plus Salve Regina forward Ashley Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) completed the All-CCC First Team.

The All-CCC Second Team consisted of 11 student-athletes including the lone All-Conference selections from Gordon, Nichols, and Western New England. The Fighting Scots were represented by forward Cara Goudie (Wenham, Mass.), while defender MacKenzie McDonald (Pembroke, Mass.) was the lone Bison selected. Forward Jacqueline Clark (Auburn, Mass.) was the Golden Bears' honoree. The Seahawks had the most Second Teamers with four. They were forward Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.), midfielders Hannah Filiault (Keene, N.H.) and Vanessa Frost (North Attleboro, Mass.), defender Kristen Wales (Southport, Conn.). Endicott was the only other school with multiple All-CCC Second Teamers as forward Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.) and midfielder Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.) both earned spots. UNE defender Amanda Lapar (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and RWU goalkeeper Callie Flanagan (Wenham, Mass.) were the final two All-CCC Second Team picks.
