SEAHAWK FIELD HOCKEY RESULTS
Salve Regina 9, Gordon 2
Gaudet Field - Middletown, R.I.
Saturday, October 13, 2018

Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Salve Regina University field hockey had its highest offensive output of the season to support a pair of defensive seniors - goaltender Ally Daly (Peabody, Mass.) and back Emma Gaudio (Cheshire, Conn.) - as the Seahawks defeated the Fighting Scots of Gordon College, 9-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Gaudet Field.

On Senior Day, it was a freshman who started the scoring. Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.) gave Salve Regina (7-7, 4-5 CCC) a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into the game. Junior Sabrina Jandreau (Winslow, Maine) scored her team's first goal three minutes later to tie the score a 1-all. Salve Regina then had eight unanswered goals (three more in the first half, and five later in the second half) before Gordon (4-12, 1-8 CCC) finished the scoring with a penalty stroke in the 66th minute.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Salve Regina junior Ashley Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) scored three more goals to add to her conference-leading total (26).
  2. Salve Regina freshman Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.) directed every penalty corner and added two more goals, the first scores in each half.
  3. Salve Regina sophomore Tori Bickel (Harleysville, Pa.) scored twice including a second-half penalty stroke.

Key Stat of the Game
Salve Regina outshot Gordon, 19 to 7, keeping the pressure on three different Scots' goaltenders - starter Julia Altman (Hopkinton, Mass.), Katelyn Pelletier (Attleboro, Mass.), and Jasmine Rosa (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.). Cody led all players with five shots on goal.

Turning Point
Ashley Cody's first of three goals gave Salve Regina a 2-1 lead and the Seahawks scored seven more times before the Scots found the back of the net.
