Seahawks wrap up 2016 season with banquet

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University field hockey team recently held its season-ending banquet at the Young Building which houses the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy on the school's campus.

The team celebrated the 2016 season with a potluck dinner with players, coaches and their families. 

The Seahawks honored their two seniors - Erin Gendreau (Sandwich, Mass.) and Sarah Thompson (Clinton, Conn.) -  as well as their multiple Commonwealth Coast Conference all-conference honorees - Amber Cody (Pawling, N.Y.), Gendreau, and Thompson.

Team Awards

  • Offensive Player of the Year - Amber Cody
  • Defensive Player of the Year - Brooke Tolley
  • Most Improved - Allison Notarangelo
  • Full of Heart Award - Vanessa Frost (a player who brings a tremendous amount of energy and heart to our team day in and day out)
  • Seahawk Teammate Award - Jessie Severino (a team leader who has a positive attitude, is hardworking and supportive of all of her teammates)

Severino returns as captain for the 2017 squad, and will be joined by her classmate, Amber Cody, in that role.
