MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - The Salve Regina field hockey team fell 6-0 to visiting University of New England on homecoming and alumni weekend, Saturday afternoon.
Junior Hannah Warren put the Nor'easters (4-4, 3-0 CCC) 1-0 just 5:47 into the contest and never looked back.
UNE tacked on three more goals before the end of the fist half to lead, 4-0.
Sophomore goalie Murphy McCann (Westerly, R.I.) made four saves in the second half, despite the Nor'easters scoring twice more to bring the score to its final, 6-0.
Junior Erin Bibber (Charlton, Mass.) scored twice for the Nor'easters while Hannah Warren, Hayley LaPointe, Brooke Marshall and Nicole Matarozzo each score for UNE.
McCann made seven saves in the loss while Holly Smith needed just one save for the Nor'easters.
Salve Regina returns to action when the Seahawks host Endicott on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
