Keith Sutton - NEWMAC Special Teams Player of the Week (10/23 - 10/29/2023)

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending October 29, 2023, and Salve Regina University junior wide receiver Keith Sutton (Blackstone, Mass.) has been selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week for football.

Sutton had a 92-yard kickoff return that put the Seahawks ahead for the first time on Saturday and they held on for the three-point victory, 27-24. He totaled 154 return yards on three returns.

"Keith has been very explosive all year and he has been so close to breaking one for a TD," says Seahawk 11th-year head coach Kevin Gilmartin. "It was good to see him do it, especially at that opportune time - in that close game - it was the spark our team needed."

The Seahawks (6-2, 4-1 NEWMAC) host the Privateers of SUNY Maritime College on Saturday, November 4, at Toppa Field at 2 p.m. while honoring Sutton's senior teammates in their final regular-season home game - (22) Joshua Adams, Francisco Aguero, Avery Arno, Sam Capodice, Garrett DeForest, Jacob Dubois, Griffin Gallati, Matt Heverin, Ryan Janz, Drew Keiran, Matthew Lavoie, Zachary Ludemann, Luke Maruca, Michael Morin, Sean Pampin, Jack Patalano, Jacob Perez, Joe Saccone, Jeff Seganos Jr., Cain Smith, Christopher Tall, Jack Zingaro.
