Gilmartin announces senior trio as captains

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University football head coach Kevin Gilmartin has announced seniors Drew Balestrieri (Lynnfield, Mass.), Nicholas Poillucci (Hopkinton, Mass.), and Michael Saunders (Westwood, N.J.) as captains for the 2019 season.

"We have a great group of 24 seniors, and everyone one of them has stepped up and led the Salve Football Family, but the team selected three captains that personifies the characteristics of what that family is all about," said Gilmartin.  "Drew, Mike and Nick are great role models on and off the field and I look forward to watching them lead this team into the 2019 campaign." 

Salve Regina opens its season this Saturday, September 7, at home versus Norwich in a non-conference meeting at 12 p.m.
