SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University junior linebacker Drew Balestrieri (Lynnfield, Mass.) as its Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 15-21).

Defensive Player of the Week - Balestrieri got the scoring started on the first possession of the game as he picked off a Curry pass and took it 32 yards for a touchdown. He had another interception later in the quarter, giving him two on the day. The junior also recorded seven tackles in the contest, including six solo stops.

The Seahawks (4-3, 2-1 CCC) won 30-21 over the Colonels. Salve Regina continues its conference road schedule with a game at first-year member University of New England on Saturday (4 p.m.).
