NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Football has selected Salve Regina University senior kicker Andrew Verre (Wethersfield, Conn.) as its Special Teams Player of the Week (Sept. 10 - 16).

Verre had a strong day in both kicking and punting games. As a placekicker, he accounted for nine points in Salve Regina's 27-18 win. He converted both of his field goal attempts, one from 23 yards and another from 28 yards, and went a perfect 3-for-3 on extra-points. He also punted four times for a total of 155 yards (38.8 yards per punt) and pinned the Bulldogs inside the 20 twice. He also had a tackle to stop a potential breakaway run on a kickoff.

"Andrew has been ice cold and automatic as a kicker for us for the last three years," says Seahawk head coach Kevin Gilmartin. "It is great to see him continue where he left off."

Salve Regina (2-1) hosts Western Connecticut State next Saturday at 4 p.m.
