FALL RIVER, MASS. - Last Saturday several members of the Salve Regina football team put their dodgeball skills to a good use as they traveled to Fall River, Mass. to participate in third annual "Dodgeballin' for Kids" fundraiser. Participants raise money for many local youth charities, and this year in particular, money raised went to help children of the Boston Marathon tragedy.

The third annual Dodgeballin' for Kids fundraiser took place Saturday afternoon at Durfee, and this year's event had a little more of a Patriotic flavor than in years past.

Five members of the New England Patriots, led by running back Stevan Ridley, came to Fall River to help raise money for various children's programs.

Ridley, Jerod Mayo, Ryan Mallett, Brandon Bolden and Alfonzo Dennard joined the more than 200 dodgeball participants to raise money for the children of the Boston Marathon tragedy, the Children's Museum of Greater Fall River, the Fall River Middle School Sports Program, the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club. Representing Salve Regina was junior Joshua Burnett (Whitman, Mass.), freshmen Haydon Stanton (Wallingford, Conn.) and Alex Hulme (Hopkinton, Mass.), junior Paul Panarelli (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and sophomore Mitch Graziano (Kingston, Mass.).

The team of five Seahawks were chosen first to go against the Patriots, and while the outcome of the game wasn't in favor of Salve Regina, the money raised and awareness well was worth the Seahawks time.
