NCAA DIII CWS: Mulligan, Carozza, Smolinski named to all-tournament teams

EASTLAKE, Ohio (Friday, June 7, 2024) - Salve Regina University baseball went 2-2 in its first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships and three Seahawks earned recognition on an all-tournament team listing - junior catcher Brady Smolinski (North Grafton, Mass.), and sophomore pitchers Kyle Carozza (Fairfield, Conn.) and Sean Mulligan (Verona, N.J.) - with Mulligan on both NCAA Division III College World Series (CWS) and D3baseball.com All-Tournament Teams.

Sean Mulligan spun the best outing by a pitcher in the D-III World Series. The D3baseball.com Region 1 Pitcher of the Year was matched up with the D3baseball.com Region 9 Pitcher of the Year and outpitched him in a game which finished in a record 104 minutes. His WHIP was 0.78 as he kept the potent UW-Whitewater offense at bay to advance out of Bracket 2 as the sole undefeated team.

Kyle Carozza was instrumental to the success of the Salve Regina progam this postseason, especially in the D-III World Series. He earned the save in the Seahawks first-ever World Series win and made the start in their final game of the tournament. He finishd with one save and a 1.29 ERA, while opponents batted just .231 against him.
