AUBURNDALE, Fla. (March 16, 2022) - Salve Regina University junior first baseman Tyler Cannoe (Schenectady, N.Y.) collected three hits, drove in five runs, to lead the Seahawks to a 12-2 victory over Springfield College in the RussMatt Invitational at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida.

For the second straight game, Cannoe homered in the first inning, this one a solo blast to left field. He reached base four times with a double, walk, and single in addition to the roundtripper, his third of the season.

Cannoe's homer gave the Seahawks a 1-0 lead, but the Pride put two on the board in their first inning. Salve Regina (4-4) responded with a four-run second inning with Matt D'Amato (Midland Park, N.J.) scoring the tying run on a bases-loaded walk to Brandon Grover (Ashland, Mass.). Senior Sean O'Malley's (Darien, Conn.) single to center field plated sophomore infielder Michael Breen (Auburn, Mass.).

Cannoe's double to right center in the third scored Breen and Grover for a 7-2 lead.

Cannoe's single to left center in the fifth scored Breen and Grover for a 10-2 lead. Dylan Ketch (Clinton, Conn.) tripled in Cannoe, and O'Malley followed with a double to score Ketch for the 12-2 final.
