NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University junior Dominic Perachi (Washington Depot, Conn.) as it Pitcher of the Week for baseball.

CCC Pitcher of the Week - The junior left-hander got Salve Regina's baseball season off to an "immaculate" start as he need only nine pitches for three strikeouts to retire the side in the first inning. He didn't slow down after that, going seven innings and striking out 16 for a 7-0 win over Johnson and Wales (R.I.) on Saturday (March 5). He allowed just one infield hit to the Wildcats and walked two.

"Dom was outstanding from the get go and really set a tone for the weekend," said associate head coach Andrew McKeon. "He did all of the little things you need to as a pitcher to give the team a chance to win and it resulted in more than a quality start. He competed with confidence and threw the ball with conviction and when a guy like him does that, he's really tough to get to."

Salve Regina (2-1) hosts Framingham State on Wednesday, March 9, at 2 p.m.
