The Seahawks, defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) champions and participants in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships for the third time in program history in 2016, featured 30 freshman and sophomore players on the championship roster. Graduating just four from the title squad - Alex Croce (Rumford, R.I.), Ryan Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.), John McDermott (Bedford Hills, N.Y.), and Mike Schuermann (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) - head coach Eric Cirella enters his fourth season at the helm with a wealth of talent from returners to newcomers.
Several Seahawks continue to be teammates including pitcher Cory Poplawski (Syracuse, N.Y.) and first baseman Alex Perry (North Attleboro, Mass.) with the Brockton Rox of The Futures League. Three pitchers (two lefties and a righty) are featured on the Rockville Express of the Cal Ripken League - Billy Humes (East Rockaway, N.Y.), Kyle Lefelar (Potomac, Md.), and Matt Wood (Walpole, N.H.).
