Roth to pitch Sunday in New England all-star game

NEWPORT, R.I. - The 2014 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Joe Walsh All-Star Game participants have been selected and five Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) baseball student-athletes will be participating, including Salve Regina pitcher Vincent Roth (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.). The game will be played at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at LaLacheur Park in Lowell, Massachusetts.

The University Division All-Stars, comprised of New England's top Division I players, will take on the College Division All-Stars, which will be represented by the region's best Division II players and top Division III seniors.
Roth was named to the NEIBA All-Region Second Team and the All-CCC First Team. He tied for 26th nationally in pitching victories (eight). The senior lefty hurled two complete-game shutouts this season while maintaining a 1.71 earned run average (ranks 46th nationally) in 63.1 innings pitched. Roth earned a postseason victory as the No. 2 seeded Seahawks defeated No. 7 Falcons of Fitchburg State University, 14-3, on May 7 in first-round action of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Championships.
Roth also etched his name in the Seahawk record book as he crafted the all-time best earned run average among Salve Regina pitchers with minimum 100 innings pitched.
