NEWPORT, R.I. - Eight players representing four Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schools were selected to the 2013 d3baseball.com All-New England Region Teams Monday, including two from Salve Regina (29-12) - junior catcher Dominic Di Sano (Central Falls, R.I.) made the first team while junior designated hitter Tyler Colby (Easton, Conn.) made the second team.

The two Seahawks paced a potent offense that ranks 17th in scoring (out of 370 schools) in NCAA Division III baseball. Colby and Di Sano were 24th and 49th respectively in sacrifice flies.

Di Sano stands out among all catchers in the region. He combines his defensive duties and handling of the Seahawk pitching staff with a productive offensive game. He ranks seventh in the league in RBI (34) while batting .354 with 13 doubles, one triple, and three home runs. His .538 slugging percentage tops all Seahawks while ranking fourth in the conference.

Colby led the league in batting average (.420) with 11 of his 50 hits going for extra bases (10 doubles, one triple). He ranked 10th in the league with 32 runs batted in and scored 26 runs in addition to swiping 10 bases.

After winning its first two games in the conference championships, Salve Regina ended its 2013 season with back-to-back defeats to NCAA participants (Western New England and 2013 champion Endicott). The Seahawks finished with their second-most victories in a single season (29-12) while a 10-game win streak from April 13-22 had the squad picking up votes in the regional top eight poll.
