NEWPORT, R.I. – Just a few days after the release of the New England coaches' poll, in which the Salve Regina baseball team received votes in the regional rankings for the first time since 2006, the NCAA released its first regional rankings of the 2013 season. The Seahawks landed eighth in the New England region with a record of 26-7 so far on the year.

The Seahawks are also receiving votes in the latest ABCA Collegiate Baseball poll as they take their 10-game winning streak on the road tomorrow, April 26, against Brandeis. (ABCA Top-30 Coaches Poll)

Two other Commonwealth Coast Conference schools join Salve Regina in the regional rankings as Western New England is ranked third and Endicott sits at sixth. Though the Seahawks fell to Western New England in a pair of close games (1-0; 3-1), they do own a win over the fourth-ranked Eastern Connecticut State. Salve Regina went on the road and defeated ECS 7-6 just a few short weeks ago.

Salve Regina wraps up its CCC schedule on Saturday at historic Cardines Field as the Seahawks host Endicott in a key conference doubleheader. Currently, Salve Regina is third in the conference with Endicott and Western New England tied at the top of the standings with just a one game lead.
