Seahawks making noise in New England

NEWPORT, R.I. - What sound does a Seahawk make? Whatever it sounds like, collegiate baseball people in New England are hearing it as Salve Regina University baseball is receiving votes in the regional coaches' poll.
With their current 10-game win streak (includes a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader sweep over Curry this afternoon), the Seahawks improve to 26-7 overall. Salve Regina owns a win over the fourth-ranked team on this week's list, beating Eastern Connecticut State University, 7-6, on the road 18 days ago.
Salve Regina also went toe-to-toe with five-time defending CCC champion Western New England (ranked third in regional poll) in late March, only to fall in two close games (1-0 and 3-1).
The Seahawks rank third in the Commonwealth Coast Conference standings and finish their league schedule with a home twinbill at historic Cardines Field on Saturday against current second-place Endicott College. Like the Seahawks, the Gulls are also receiving votes in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Coaches' Poll.
