Storm postpones Seahawk games
NEWPORT, R.I. - The National Weather Service predicts that light
snow will develop in the Newport area early Friday morning, with
heavier snowfall developing over the region in the afternoon. The
evening rush hour will become treacherous, with 1-2 inches per hour
developing.
Heavy snow along with blizzard conditions will occur Friday night
through Saturday morning with 2-3 inches per hour of snow
expected.
Coastal areas such as Newport will also experience high winds and
potential power outages with the worst conditions being Friday
night through Saturday afternoon.
Salve Regina University has announced school will be closed on
Friday. The following athletic events have also been affected:
