WEDNESDAY (Feb. 21)

Women's ice hockey, sitting in fourth place in the CCC, will host the fifth place team, Curry College, at 2 p.m. in game one of an ice hockey double header on Wednesday. Last week the Seahawks fell 3-0 to the University of New England on Friday, February 16. The following day women's ice hockey bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Nichols College. Going into the game the Seahawks needed to win or tie with the Bison to make it to postseason action. Jillian Egan was the first to score just 3:27 into the game, however the Bison matched it for a 1-1 tie to end the first period. Gina Richard netted the game winning goal at 13:34 in the second period and secured Salve Regina's spot in the post season. Richard currently leads the CCC in goals scored (15). If the Seahawks win on Wednesday against Curry, they will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, February 24, hosted by No. 1 Endicott College.

Men's lacrosse hosts Roger Williams University at 4 p.m. at Gaudet field for the first game of a double header with women's lacrosse. After two contests were postponed due to weather last week the team is ready to kickstart the season. Last season the Seahawks defeated the Hawks 15-10 on April 26. Salve Regina enters the contest with no season record and Roger Williams comes off a 20-10 loss to Babson College

Women's lacrosse invites Simmons University to Gaudet Field in Middletown, Rhode Island at 7 p.m. This will be the team's season opener. Women's lacrosse finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 9-8 and 5-3 in the CCC.

In the quarterfinal of the NEWMAC tournament No.1 Springfield College will host No.8 Salve Regina women's basketball at 7 p.m. at the James Naismith Court in Springfield, Massachusetts. The team fell 93-72 last week to the Unites States Coast Guard Academy and succumbed 89-73 to Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Seahawks last saw Springfield on February 7 and the Pride bested the Seahawks 75-59, however going into the final quarter the Seahawks led by ten points with a score of 49-39. The Seahawks advance to the postseason with a record of 10-15 overall and 4-7 in the NEWMAC. If the Seahawks win Wednesday's contest they will advance to the semifinals on Friday, February 23, hosted by the winner of the Babson College versus the United States Coast Guard Academy game.

CCC No. 4 men's ice hockey hosts No. 5 Wentworth Institute of Technology at 8 p.m. at the Cabot-Harman Ice Center. The team played only one game last week and fell 2-0 to the University of New England. Matthew Fawcett currently leads both the Seahawks and the CCC in goals scored (16), goals per game (.64) and points (33). The Seahawks have seen Wentworth three times this season, the first two meetings on November 10, 2023, and November 11, 2023, were 5-2 and 3-1 victories respectively. The Seahawks also vanquished the Leopards 7-1 on February 11, 2024. If the Seahawks advance they will either contend with No. 1 Curry College or No. 2 Endicott College on Saturday, February 24.

FRIDAY (Feb. 23)

SATURDAY (Feb. 24)

All three Seahawk contests take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Elms College will make the trip to Middletown for a home women's lacrosse game at 12 p.m. Salve Regina has not seen Elms in the recent past, although the teams were supposed to faceoff last year but the contest was canceled due to weather related concerns. The Blazers are a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). The program finished out the 2023 season 7-8 overall and 6-7 in the GNAC.

Men's lacrosse will be in New York for a 12 p.m. game time against the SUNY Maritime College Privateers. Salve Regina is 2-2 against the Privateers since the 2016-17 season. SUNY Maritime has yet to play a contest in 2024, but the team was 13-6 overall and 7-0 in the Skyline Conference in 2023.

Baseball plays day two in Washington, D.C. against Stockton University at 12 p.m. Salve Regina has not seen Stockton in the recent past. In 2023 Stockton was 22-20 overall and 8-10 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

SUNDAY (Feb. 25)

Salve Regina will close out the week when baseball goes head-to-head with Western New England University at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Golden Bears are a former conference rival for Salve Regina in the CCC. Beginning with the 1992-93 season Salve Regina has a record of 16-30-2 against Western New England. The last contest on May 10, 2023, was a 10-7 win for the Seahawks.
