Seahawks land 64 on Fall Academic All-CCC

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University has landed 64 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2020 Fall Academic All-Conference Team, announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

The Academic All-Conference Team consists of any starter or significant reserve who has attained at least sophomore status at start of competition and has maintained an overall minimum GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00. This is the seventh time the honor has been separated into two seasons - fall and spring. In total, 500 student-athletes representing all 10 member institutions were selected for the Fall Academic All-Conference Team - men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis, and women's volleyball.

This year's 500 honoree-total is the most on a CCC Fall Academic All-Conference list since the league split the Academic All-Conference award into fall and spring semesters in 2012-13. The University of New England had the most student-athletes honored with 66 recipients. Women's soccer featured the most honorees by sport with 107.

In addition to the 64 Seahawks, 25 more earned a similar honor with identical qualifications as members of the Salve Regina football team. The Seahawks on the multi-sport academic squad are represented by 28 sophomores, 21 juniors, and 15 seniors.
